Before instructing an estate agent to sell you home please bear in mind the following:

Are they tying you into a lengthy contract?
Do they require additional notice period at the end of the contract?
Are there any hidden fees? e.g. withdrawal fees
Do they charge extra to go joint / multi agency? If so this is clearly highlighted on the contract?
Do they advertise on the main website portals e.g. Zoopla, RightMove etc
Are they only interested in selling your home or will they help you find your next property?
Will they conduct regular reviews and provide instant feedback?
Will they conduct every viewing?
Will you have a dedicated sales person to help you throughout?
Once you have sold your property, will you be provided with regular sales progression updates?
